The start on a new year and a new series of the Landscape Photographers Diary and what better time than to feature a collection of my favourite walks,  all in the Black Mountains. I have put together this collection as an introductory guide to the area. Covering all the peaks for the peak baggers and walking the length of all its ridges. Stopping off at some of the historic sites and absorbing a few great points of interest. All the walks are circular so doing them with just one car is possible plus where possible never cross the same ground twice.

So our first days walk is The Queen The Monk and The Stone of Revenge covering about 11 miles and accumulating a total accent of somewhere near 800m. I have included a free G.P.S download of the route.

  1. I saw this walk on your site a couple of weeks ago and decided to do it (although in the reverse direction from yourself). Fantastic walk – it was an absolute pleasure!
